God surely blessed us with the perfect day for The Big Giveaway. We had many people come through and take things they needed such as clothes, toys, books, etc...
We talked with lots of folks and were able to pray with several as they expressed different needs and things going on in their lives. God really brought the people of our neighborhood to us in a special way. I want to say thank you to each person who contributed items and also thanks to all the people who helped to plan, set up, talk with people, and take things down. It was a spectacular team effort. I am so grateful to be a part of this congregation and part of efforts like today's.
I want to commend the ladies from the Ladies' Bible Class who came up with the idea and executed it. Fantastic outreach!!! I also want to let everyone know we were able to minister to some people who really need Jesus and really need to be loved by a good church family. They were all invited to come and worship with us. I know it takes a lot of courage for someone to visit a new church especially if they think they may walk into a place where they are going to be judged. I know that for those that do come, they will find a place of hope, grace and mercy, just what they are needing most right now. Jesus asked us to love the least of these and it looks like He may be bringing some of them to us tomorrow. :) Let's do what we do best, which is to love God and love others.
